Gwen Bedics

Gwen Bedics, SBA Relationship Officer with Enterprise Funding Corp., is deeply rooted in the community she serves. She has called the High Desert region “home” since 1979 and has helped to shape what the area has become today. This tight-knit community that was once merely a pit-stop on the way to Vegas, has become a thriving economic region that many have embraced for its easy access to everything, gorgeous sunsets, great camping and, as Gwen can attest to, fabulous dirt-bike riding opportunities!

The five incorporated cities of the High Desert region; Adelanto, Apple Valley, Barstow, Hesperia, Victorville and the unincorporated regions of the area along I-15 represent a population of 442,497, making it one of the most populous regions in California. Bedics has played a huge role in bolstering economic development in the High Desert. Since joining Enterprise Funding Corp. six years ago, she has helped to fund $69 million in SBA 504 projects, the majority of which were located in the High Desert.

Just prior to beginning at Enterprise Funding Corp., Bedics worked for ten years at Desert Community Bank. During her tenure there, she was promoted from SBA Loan Officer to Department Manager. She started in the banking industry at the age of 18 and through her career has been involved in all aspects of SBA lending; loan origination, underwriting, servicing and liquidation. This unique perspective and her long history and expertise in the industry make her invaluable as she interfaces with lenders, brokers and customers throughout the project.

In keeping with her desire to help the High Desert community thrive, Bedics has served on the committee of High Desert Opportunity (HDO) for the past six years, and this year was elected President. HDO brings together developers, banks, and business leaders for an annual one-day conference. Attendees have the opportunity to meet with city and county economic development leaders, city planners, financial institutions, commercial real estate representatives and, of course, Enterprise Funding Corp. This year’s event will be held on October 16 and nearly 900 attendees are expected.

Bedics loves living in and serving the High Desert region. In addition to all of her other work, Bedics is also the Secretary/Treasurer of the Lucerne Valley Mutual Water Co. Her dedication to the community is held very deeply and she thoroughly enjoys her role in helping the area thrive and grow. If you should have any questions about bringing your business to the High Desert region, or are looking to finance the acquisition, construction, or improvements to either office, retail, or industrial buildings in the area, don’t hesitate to pick up the phone and tap into the knowledge of this regional SBA expert.
